The BX Radio Network Welcomes Dr. Kathleen P King

In an effort to expand its reach in the podcast marketplace, the BX Radio Network (www.bxradio.net) has signed on Dr. Kathleen P King, education and distance learning expert, researcher and widely published professor and author as a managing partner. Dr. King joins founding partners Peter K Yanke and Matt Hartley and will bring an educational perspective to the network.

The timing is no coincidence as the BX Radio Network nears the launch of its podcast radio station of educational content under the name iLearn Radio (www.ilearnradio.org) The iLearn Radio station will be a sister station to the already popular CoolCast Radio station (www.coolcastradio.com) under the BX Radio Network umbrella, and will focus on distance education using podcasts. Other online services and resources will be brought online later in 2006 to complement the educational radio station.

All ages will be able to benefit from the new iLearn Radio station with content for students and teachers alike for K-12, as well as Higher Ed, Continuing and Adult Education students. Dr. Kathy King’s experience in the industry will no doubt become an invaluable tool as the BX Radio Network moves into this area of the podcasting industry.

Interested podcasters need to contact the BX Radio Network as soon as possible. Submission schedules and other details will be discussed upon the podcaster's acceptance into the iLearn Radio lineup

Soft Launch Planned to Test Systems

Given the phenomenal response to the project, the BX Radio Network has decided it will run a 'Soft Launch' on September 1st, 2005 of it's Cool Cast Radio station. This will allow us to gauge traffic and other systems and processes to ensure the best possible experience for both listeners and broadcasters.

It is one of our goals to reach as many people as possible, and in this light we will be using the soft launch to broadcast a scaled down version of the station's content. We expect the soft launch to continue through September 30th, 2005, at which time we will be looking at going into 'Full Launch' status.

We will of course be adding in new content and features through the entire process. If you would like to join the BX Radio Network family of podcasters, advertisers or writers, please contact us to get started.

We look forward to becoming your choice for online podcast content.

Look Ethel...It's a Podcast!

All joking aside, if you thought the young people of the world are the only ones into the latest Internet trends, you may be wrong, and survey company CLX has come out with a poll suggesting just that. According to the story on Podcasting News, podcasting is most popular with those over 45, weighing in at 21%. The 15-24 year old age bracket came in at a much lower 13% proving that the 'young whipper snappers' don't always have the upper hand on the latest and greatest.

This of course comes as no surprise to us at the BX Radio Network as we have embraced listeners of ALL ages with the diverse brands of podcast content we intend to broadcast on the Cool Cast Radio station. The goal as always, is to bring the newest and freshest podcast content to those that want it and perhaps even to those that don't even know they want it yet.

Cool Cast Radio Signs First Podcasters to Station

IT's OFFICIAL! Cool Cast Radio has started signing it's first podcasters to it's online radio station. Among those who have signed an agreement to be broadcast on the BX Radio Network's podcast radio station, are Mitch Keeler's Web Hosting Show and Joan Winberg of JLW Enterprises.

(excerpt from Mitch's website) "After listening to such online radio shows as the Chris Pirillo Show and Changing Media, I wanted to pursue the same format and process. Instead of the world of technology in general though, I decided to focus in on what I know best, Web hosting."

(excerpt from Joan's website) "Joanie Winberg is a speaker, a Relationship Coach, an Advanced Human Behavior Consultant, a Certified Laughter Coach and founder/president of JLW Enterprises, Inc. She coaches individuals nationwide to reach their highest potential both personally and professionally."

There are many more podcasts quickly moving through the approval process, and these are just the first in a long list of quality content providers to come. We also still have an open invitation to any podcasters interested in being broadcast on Cool Cast Radio.

Delayed Press Release generates more interest

Thanks to a recently released press release by PodcastingNews.com, Cool Cast Radio has experienced a surge of new interest in our Podcast Broadcast project. The current count has not been tallied yet, but there are in excess of 50 interested parties who have either requested more information or have already entered the approval process to be broadcast on the BX Radio Network.

While the press release was originally submitted to the Podcasting News website on July 18th, the results far outweigh any complaint we might have with the delay itself and have been much greater then the response from the PRWeb.com press release.

The BX Radio Network and Cool Cast Radio websites are currently being revised/finished and will be undergoing many changes over the next couple of weeks due to the tremendous response we have received. We do appreciate your patience during this time. All signs still point to a September 1st, 2005 launch-date, with an as yet undetermined test launch some time before that.

BX Radio Network begins search for advertisers

With new podcast content beginning to come in almost daily now, the BX Radio Network has started to search for advertisers for it's Cool Cast Radio station. Trying to accommodate the 'little guy', pricing models will include special discounts for smaller companies wanting to promote their product or service on the BX Radio Network in addition to standard long term commitment price breaks.

The goal is to create an environment not unlike shortwave radio broadcasts, who depend on a larger quantity of smaller advertisers to support their show. There will of course, be opportunities for larger companies to get involved by becoming daily, weekly or monthly sponsors, but the focus will be to afford smaller companies a medium by which they can affordably, but still effectively, promote themselves to a worldwide audience.

If your company would be interested in such an opportunity, please contact the BX Radio Network at info@bxradio.net or call us directly at 505.835.8967 for more information. We look forward to working with you and your company in this exciting new arena of online entertainment.

Approval process begins for Podcasters

After a fantastic response to the press release, the BX Radio Network has begun the approval process for several podcasters wishing to be broadcast under the Cool Cast Radio brand. Legal documents and information gathering are now taking place, afterwhich submissions for broadcasting will start rolling in.

Given the variety of content expected, the next big step will be scheduling broadcasts into the appropriate time slots. We are currently on track for our September 1, 2005 launch, but will most likely have a test launch prior to officially going live. We are also contacting specific established podcasters with good quality content to get involved with this project, but still have an open invitation to all podcasters who wish to join the BX Radio Network.

Newest podcasts add diversity to BX Radio

Just barely into the day after our first press release and the interest is increasing. The newest podcasts showing interest include the Celtic Music News Podcast and 1st Pod Publishing, a podcast actually about getting involved in podcasting.

Other notables to show interest are Mitch Keeler of Lockergnome as well as the Weezy and The Swish podcast, which is gaining more and more popularity daily, and features Louise Palanker, a popular comedienne and Laura Swisher, another comedienne with appearances on the Fran Drescher show Living with Fran in her credits and others.

A truly diverse set of podcasts is developing and should allow for a widely appealing group of content on the BX Radio Network.
